The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) currently offers the A+ certification for entry-level technicians, and the Certified Document Imaging Architech (CDIA) for individuals involved in (Mastery-level) document imaging. These qualifications for A+ and CDIA, identify the necessary skills needed for an individual to perform their job competently and most important, successfully. A+ Certification
The test covers a broad range of hardware and software technologies, but are not related to any vendor-specific products. To become certified, you must pass two parts - the Core and the MicrosoftTM DOS/Windows module portion. When both the Core and the DOS/Windows portions are passed, the candidate receives the A+ designation. Earning A+ certification means that the individual possesses the knowledge, skills, and customer relations skills essential for a successful entry-level (6 months experience) computer service technician. CDIA certification
CompTIA's CDIA certification is a nationally recognized credential acknowledging competency and professionalism in the document imaging industry. CDIA candidates possess critical knowledge of all major areas and technologies used to plan, design and specify an imaging system. More information available at the CompTIA Certification web page.
Network+
Network+ is a testing program sponsored by the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA), that will certify the knowledge of networking technicians with 18 - 24 months experience in the IT industry. This test was available for beta testing in February 1999 and was launched in April of 1999. More information available at the CompTIA Certification web page.
